Up until now, Microgaming has been at the forefront of any online slots developed using DC Comics heroes. Playtech has been leading the way with Marvel superhero themed slots. However, Microgaming may have let an opportunity slip them by here, after Playtech have recently signed a deal with Warner Bros, to snap up some serous franchises, including DC Comics.

The new agreement is set to last several years, and could see new Playtech slot machine games developed (perhaps even in time for later this year), which might feature Batman, Superman, the Green Lantern, and more. Understandably, Microgaming’s Batman slots will remain active since they are based on the Christian Bale movies, although the most recent Superman movies (such as 2013’s Man of Steel) could be included in the package).

Playtech have decided to offer any new games they make in partnership with Warner Bros available via their Playtech ONE omni-channel. This should mean that players will be able to play any new games on their mobiles, tablets, computers, laptops, whenever, and whenever.

Previously, it was Microgaming who did a lot of the work developing big money slot machine games based on franchises, although Playtech is certainly getting themselves involved, after a number of quitter years on the slot development front.

The company are thought to be eager to follow on from their recent released of Top Gun, and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.

It is unclear if the is deal will see the end of Microgaming’s relationship with DC, and if it does that would be seen as a catastrophic blow to the company, whose Dark Knight Batman game is one of the biggest paying progressives on the net, and offers millions more than any Marvel Playtech slot can offer.
